Feature Film: The Last Winter

I am very pleased and proud to announce my newest (film) project, in the co-starring role of LEE MEANS:

The Last Winter
Feature Film
Iceland
March-April, 2005

Directed by Larry Fessenden and produced by Jeff Levy-Hinte ("Thirteen", "Laurel Canyon") and Joni Sighvatsson ("K19: The Widowmaker", "Arlington Road").

SAG production to be shot in Iceland in March and April, 2005.

The film takes place in the Arctic tundra of Northern Alaska, where an advanced team working for a petroleum exploration company is engaged in a massive project to exploit the oil resources of the pristine land. After one crew member is found dead, a disorientation slowly claims the sanity of the other members of the team as each succumbs to an unknowable fear.

LEE MEANS is a compact, tough, weathered and slightly bemused crewmember working for the drilling company.

It is a small ensemble (8 characters) drama/thriller.

We´re entering the second week of principal photography as I write this. Iceland is beyond words!

Television Sitcom: 'Asi Es La Vida'

On a different note, my two month stay - six week shoot-in Lima, Perú was as pleasant as it was succesful. I was there as a guest-star for sixteen episodes of América Televisión´s hit TV sitcom 'Asi Es La Vida' ('That's Life') last November and December.

'Asi Es La Vida'
Television Sitcom
Perú
November-December, 2004

'Asi Es La Vida' is the single most watched show in all of Peru with an audience of over 10 million. América Televisión is the number one network in the country, and part of an international conglomerate of media moguls from Peru, Colombia and very likely Mexico soon. This wildly funny one-hour series is currently being sold to other Spanish speaking markets, and my participation in the show was used as a hook to secure the sale of the show to my own native homeland of Bolivia.

Aside from the instant notoriety my episodes brought me troughout the entire country, my work in them also made me many invaluable connections with film & TV producers from the above mentioned three countries.

Most importantly, my work on the show gave me chance to seriously work on my comedy and improv skills -not previously my greatest strengths- alongside, and under the direction of, an incredibly seasoned cast and director that have single-handedly cornered the viewership market in Perú for four years running (two years with the current show, and two years previously with the sitcom "Mil Oficios" on a different network). Basically I got payed to learn. What a deal!

In Closing:

Looks like 2005 is going to be a good year!

Thank you all for your friendship and support in the past and present. I sincerely hope our futures will remain connected.

Good luck and sincere best wishes to you all.

O' Mitakuye Oasin!
